今回もインテリア用のデザインを中心に紹介しようと思います。いくつかの作品は仲井氏とのコラボレーションとなります。2作家による、また違った素材（鉄と木のような）による合作となります。

This time too I'll going to show mainly works of interior design.

Some of the works are going to be done in colaboration with Mr. Nakai.

A collaboration and integration between two different personality as two different material such wood and metal.

Anche in questa occasione presentero` prevalentemente lavori di design.

Questa volta sara` una mostra in collaborazione con Nakai Kojiro, un artista che lavora prevalentemente il metallo.

Sara` una collaborazione ed un integrazione di due differenti personalita`tanto quanto due differenti materiali quali legno e metallo.

Primi bozzetti

First sketches

primo passo:
scelta del legno e prima sbozzatura con motosega.

Step one:

Choose the wood and cut it with the chainsaw.

secondo passo:

linee e volumi generali sono state definite
Step two:
Define the first lines and general shape.

terzo passo:
taglio della lastra di ferro

Step three:
Cut the iron plate.

nota:
ho lasciato la superfice del taglio grezza e naturale avendo solo cura di martellare per smussare le zone potenzialmente pericolose.

Note:
I kept the cut's surface natural and crude as much as possible, just hammering to smooth some areas where there was a potential risk of injury.

Quarto passo:

controllo le proporzioni tra legno e ferro inizio a determinare l'altezza e la distanza alla quale il legno dovra` essere fissato infine trovare le angolazioni ideali dei supporti delle viti che terranno il legno sospeso.

Step four:
Check the proportion between wood and iron, and then determine the correct height and distance of the wood from the iron. Then calculate the correct angle for the four supports for the screws, which start in the iron and penetrate into the wood, which will hold it in the air.

riguardo la base:
era necesario giusto una struttura sufficente a tenere in piedi, alla stessa distanza e facilmente smontabili le due lastre di ferro dato che il peso in se le avrebbe fermate a terra, inoltre, esteticamente, la base e`coperta da uno strato di ghiaia presente nello spazio dove sara` esposta.

about the base:

it was enought have a structure to hold and keep standing the two iron's plates at the same distance and simple to setting for their wheigtit's enought to holding on the ground and aesthetically too there was not need to do more for will be cover by a layer of gravel.

Quinto passo:
la parte piu` pericolosa! (se in questa fase qualcosa non va come dovrebbe ...meglio non preoccupiamoci ora!) Determinare le angolazioni esatte delle quattro viti e da qui l'angolazione dei fori nel legno. Le viti dovranno essere tutte parallele tra loro o al massimo a coppia.
Passaggio particolarmenete difficile in quanto non ci sono dei punti di riferimento materiali, solo la mia idea ed il margine di differenza delle angolazione delle viti in cui devo stare e`al di sotto di 5mm. Per questo ho costruito una struttura dove appoggiare e fissare il legno all'altezza, distanza ed inclinazione volute rispetto alle pareti di ferro.

Step five:
Now comes the most complicated part...(if something doesn't go as according to plan..... better don't worry about it) Calculate the angles of inclinations for the four screws and therefore for the holes in the wood. It's quite difficult as the screws should be almost parallel to each-other therefore the range of the difference among the screws's axes in which I have to stay in is about 5 mm or less, otherwise one or more screws cannot go into the wood; to do this I made a structure on which I anchored the wood at the necessary height, distance and inclination, and clamped it to the iron's plates.

... bene...fatti i fori nel legno alla giusta angolazione e fissati i tasselli dentro. Ci siamo quasi... ora vediamo....

good... all the holes in the wood are at the correct inclination and the raw plugs are in the correct places. We are almost there... let's see.....

Sesto passo:

ora che ho concluso la parte strettamente "tecnica" posso concludere la parte in legno. Gli ultimi tocchi e infine l'olio.

Step six:
Now that I have done the "technical" part I can put the finishing touches on the wood with oil.

almost 400 of iron stick , bented and welded together around the wooden sphere.

circa 400 tondini di ferro, piegati e saldati intorno alla sfera di legno interna.

the first step...

make the very first shape and line for keep the dimension and fix were there are the two tunnels that will connect the outside with the woodensphere inside .

il primo passo...

realizzo le prime forme e linee per definire dimensioni e posizione dell'ingresso dei due tunnel che collegeranno l'esterno con la sfera di legno all'interno.

second step...

I start to make the upper half of the iron sphere. Here you can see the begining of the first tunnel.

secondo passo...

inizio a realizzare la meta` superiore della sfera di ferro. Qui
si puo` vedere l'inizio del primo tunnel.

the third step...
the upper half is almost done. Now the tunnels are almost invisible at a very first sight.
The tunnels are very narrow ( for an adult's hand will be hard pass trought) and dangerous too for numberless iron sticks ends here. Actually I have melted and rounded every single ends of iron stick so their cannot puck or scratch and yet the feeling of danger remain.

la parte superiore e` quasi finita. Ora i tunnel sono quasi invisibili ad un primo sguardo. Sono molto stretti (la mano di un adulto fatica a passare) e anche pericolosi in quanto la fine di innumerevoli ferri termina in questi tunnel. In realta` ho fuso e smussato ogni singolo capo dei tondini in modo tale che non possono ne pungere ne graffiare, comunque il senso di pericolo rimane.

ora inizia la realizzazione della parte inferiore della sfera di ferro

when also the lower half is made I try to fix in the wooden sphere (still to be finish)... it fix well!

Quinto passo...
ora la parte inferiore della sfera di ferro e praticamente finita. Controllo che la sfera di legno ( ancora da rifinire ) si posizioni dentro perfettamente .... tutto a posto!

But....

Ma....

sixth step...
the wooden sphere made by canphor tree.
50 cm of diameter for about 40/50 kg.... too much weight! so heavy I risk to be out of 200kg weight limits given by the museum for the whole sculpture. The iron parts are already about 160kg. Yes probably , if at the museum are not too strict on the rules I should let it....but what about if they are? And anyway handle just by my self and carefully a sphere of 50kg at almost 60cm afar and setting in center of the iron half sphere , well, will be not so easy ... I have to make it lighter. For this purpose I can't touch the outside for I have to keep the dimension as it is.

The solution is to cut it in half, carving within the to parts, let the thickness of 4/5cm and put togheter again...

la sfera in legno di canfora.
50 cm di diametro per circa 40/50 kg ... e` troppo! cosi` rischio di essere fuori dai limiti di 200 kg fissati dal museo per l'intera scultura. La parte in ferro del lavoro pesa intorno ai 160kg. Si, forse potrei anche lasciarla cosi se al museo non sono troppo rigidi sulle regole, ma se lo sono? E comunque maneggiare con cura e da solo 50kg di sfera a 60cm di distanza per sistemarla al centro della mezza sfera di ferro non e` molto semplice. Devo farla piu` leggera. A questo scopo non posso toccare l'esterno per tenere queste dimensioni, quindi devo tagliarla in due, scavare l'interno delle due meta` lasciando uno spessore di circa 4/5 cm e riunirle di nuovo.

Eccoci! tagliata, scavata, riunita. Rimane solo dal dare la cera.
